The Spring Estate 2022 by Santaniello plays with light and shadow by treating the garments like pictorial canvases. Shapes and colors are the protagonists of a rebirth of the classic understood as a renewed perspective on fashion, with the aim of placing each garment in space and time. No more looks that are ends in themselves, but a look that observes where and when, offering their own interpretation – faithful and creative at the same time – of a rapidly evolving world. Of a present that keeps changing before our eyes.
When asked to reflect new needs and new classics, Santaniello responds with an idea of elegance that does not forget functionality and opens up to the infinite possibilities of a versatile style, which can be done just from time to time. From here new trouser styles and seasonal interpretations of the classics arrive already existing as the Arechis, and Drive, i Dowel e i Clark.
The Spring Estate 2022 by Santaniello focus on the Barone joggers, comfortable yet refined, perfect with elegant shoes or sneakers depending on the moment and attitude. The Granata Gurkha pants and the Load tailored cargo pants are also back, both already appeared in the Autumn-Winter version. The Fold model, reinterpretation of the Dowel with the addition of 1 clamp, and the 945T with regular fit, complete the collection.
Next to the jackets – 2 bottoni, 3 buttons ripped two and double-breasted – Santaniello's research into the workwear universe is back: the new Anemone overshirt with shirt collar and double patch pocket on the chest joins the now classic Zagara shirt-jacket, both proposed in a new concept of dress, over the matching Barone pants. Among the novelties of the season there are also two vests: the Follaro with V-neck, 2 pockets and patch pocket on the more classic front regulating buckle on the back and the Silene with round neck and iconic pocket hip work.
In the choice of raw materials, the focus is always on the highest quality: each garment is studied to allow the best expression of the fabric through the design, reconciling the brand's sartorial heritage with renewed fits. At EP 2022 use linen, lana/seta, seersucker and lots of cotton bull, resistant and structured, which allows for the creation of more defined volumes.
The garments of the Il Viaggiatore collection are reconfirmed in machine-washable stretch Lycra® without the need for ironing. Santaniello continues his research in the creation of a style where the boundaries between formal and informal can merge, overcoming the antithesis between comfort and elegance, tra passato e futuro.
The photographic campaign is the first chapter of a story for paintings: a series of set portraits that evokes the atmosphere of Renaissance-era artist studios. In half between the bustling construction site of the craft shops and a fascinating wunderkammer full of sets ready to come to life on the canvas.
The shots recreate worlds that are no longer so distant, theatrical settings never too far-fetched. The key is possibility: explore new avenues through imagination, imagine to create and transform ideas into reality. The chromatic choice combines light colors like those used in the first layers of the paintings and brighter colors that seem to be inspired by Botticelli's paintings. Blu, green, pink, earth colors. Between pattern appear micro-stripes and floral motifs, homage to the art form tapestry textile.
“For the next collections I found great inspiration in the Renaissance. The last two years have thrown many basic certainties into crisis, of fashion as fashion and of fashion understood as the people who make it, they dress her, they live it. In times of crisis it is easy to take refuge in the past with nostalgic and passive operations. The creative challenge is to start from past and overcome it, make it reborn in new forms” Antonio Santaniello
