The 25 and the 26 May 2013 back to Gaeta the food and wine event The Oven-baked and olive Gaeta. History, tradition and tasting.

Now in its tenth edition will animate the center for two days Liberty Square of Gaeta and represents an important opportunity where you can taste the different types of tielle and know the secret of preparation of this ancient dish directly by housewives.

The history of Oven-baked Gaeta, kind of pizza stuffed with vegetables or fish (pulps, anchovies, escarole, onions) binds, in fact, inextricably to the history of the city. Suffice it to say that the first official document which shows the word pizza is contained in Caietanus the Codex Diplomaticus 997. Also you can taste the famous oil of Gaeta, known since the time of Aeneas.

The initiative aims to affirm the importance of socio-cultural and economic life of local products, among the most attractive of the Italian System. The association Gaetavola has started a process of improvement and recovery historian who gave, over the years, good results but mostly did raise awareness about the possibility of creating room for territorial development and marketing around food and dishes that until a few years before were in danger of disappearing.
