Telling the characteristics of a dish is to speak of the culture and of the men who have produced. It means deepening the relationships linking the power to economy, Ethics and Social Responsibility. These stories often involve entire families and generations, taking back a memory that is likely to disappear.
The food has always had a central position in the economic territories, with increasing consumption and knowledge, has grown up to push the boundaries of the sphere of needs.
The board then becomes the starting point for telling stories and the experience of a Region. With this purpose was born the contest: “Stories of dishes and territories"By Sara Nocentini, Councillor in Commerce and Tourism of the Tuscany Region.
Citizens, blogger, Italian and foreign journalists are asked to tell their Tuscany, or a memory of this region, through the story of a plate.
All text and recipes evaluated positively will be published on the site www.storiedipiatti.it, integrated site Showcase Tuscany, where there are also details of Regulation. A committee will identify the most deserving stories that will form a free e-book that will be presented at Expo.
The most interesting stories will be told to the media from the voice of the authors and the best recipes are then cooked, together with the staff of the cooperative social Boys of Curtain, from the people who sent them.
The contest is organized by Showcase Tuscany the draft Region and Unioncamere that the last three years has aimed to combine history, art, landscape, food and wine to offer a 360-degree view of the Tuscan culture, in collaboration with Fondazione Sistema Toscana.
The purpose is not to make a recipe book, but to reclaim a memory essential to the quality of life, which can strengthen the identity of Tuscany and at the same time help improve the economic fabric.
