Boom in donations toATT to hire a new doctor. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of citizens gathered 100.000 euros that will allow to finance three years of home service for the sick in the area. Hundreds of donors in Florence, Lawn, Pistoia and its province responded with great generosity to the fundraising campaign launched byAssociazione Tumori Toscana in July to reinforce the medical staff.
The campaign ended on 30 September and in just over three months they were harvested 100.000 euros that will allow patients to count on three years of service by a new reinforcement doctor. Since the beginning of the Coronavirus, in fact, ATT is continuing to record a significant increase in requests for home care from cancer patients in the Tuscan territory forced, ora più che mai, to stay at home but in need of care and assistance.
Thanks to donations and fundraising events, an extraordinary result was achieved that went far beyond the initial minimum target of 30.000 euro needed to finance a year's salary. "I am excited about the affection competition stimulated by the fundraising for a new doctor for ATT," he said Giuseppe Spinelli, President ATT- A real Olympiad of solidarity and a big heart was unleashed in which many people took part. And still more funds will arrive: in fact, even those who could not help us now contacted us to make a promise of donation that will surely arrive in the coming months. I would like to thank each of them individually for having accepted the cry for help from cancer patients who are currently most exposed to the infection and must be protected and treated at home by limiting travel as much as possible, also to avoid the overcrowding of hospitals ".
Spinelli continues: “I am moved by the generosity of so many Tuscan citizens, and not only, which once again have shown that they have a great culture of solidarity. Thanks to them, many cancer patients will be able to continue to be treated at home with love and professionalism and never be left alone ". “In this period of emergency- concludes dr.
